An estimated one-third of children have a social media account, so it is important that trusted adults know what content young people are consuming. mental health support team (mhst)

Children and young people services (Solar)- Solihull

MHST as part of Solar (Solihull) who work directly with Park Hall and can offer low intensity interventions to young people who are experiencing low to mild anxiety, low mood or challenging behaviours. The interventions are informed by CBT principles. This service available to all Park Hall students regardless of postcode. Please contact a Head of Year or the Senior Mental health Lead for more information.

Solihull family hub

A Family Hub is a place where children, young people, and families can go when you need help and support. The people working in the Family Hub will be from the Council, NHS, and voluntary partners working in partnership with you and your community. They will help you get help from different services in the area. We want to help you solve any problems you may have early before they get bigger.

Healthy Minds Problem-solving tool aimed at students.

Mood Scope A mood tracking tool; the basic features are free but you have to pay for more in-depth features.

Recovery Record Self-help tool for children and young people suffering from eating disorders.

SAM (Self-Help for Anxiety Management) Help with anxiety management which includes interactive games and tools, and an anxiety tracker.

Stop.Breathe.Think (stopbreathethink.org.uk) Guide to meditation which recommends certain meditations based on how you’re feeling.

Headspace A guide to meditation and stress relief.

Childline A place a child or young person can talk to someone about something they are worried about. They can do this online or over the phone. 08001111

NSPCC This charity works against child abuse. A helpline is staffed by trained professionals who can provide expert advice and support for anyone concerned about a child, for parents or carers looking for advice, or for professionals in need of information and guidance – 0808 800 5000.

The NSPCC have also launched a dedicated helpline for children and young people who have experienced abuse at school, and for worried adults and professionals that need support and guidance – 0800 136 663.

Place2Be offers emotional and mental health support for students through one-to-one counselling and group sessions. They provide resources and guidance to help parents and carers support their child's well-being. Their services promote resilience and emotional growth within the school community.

Abuse in teenage relationships is when you begin to feel scared or controlled by the person, you’re with. You may be confused because it feels like a loving relationship but often only when you behave in a certain way. Safe Spaces are also available in Boots, Morrisons, Superdrug and Well pharmacies, TSB banks and independent pharmacies across the UK. Once you are inside, specialist domestic abuse support information will be available for you to access. Many Safe Spaces are also prepared to respond to the ‘Ask for ANI’ codeword, to provide victims with a discreet way to access help calling the police on 999 or specialist support services. Find your nearest Safe Space.
