The Pursuit of Excellence

In all that we do

and all that we aim to achieve

Duke Of Edinburgh Award

We are delighted to announce that Park Hall Academy is now a directly licenced Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Centre, and we will be offering a Bronze programme to all students in Year 9 who wish to take part (provided all costs are met) in 2020/21.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s award has proven to provide its holders with many advantages that distinguish them from their peers, especially when it comes to college/university/job applications. The award enables young people to develop many key skills that will help prepare them for the many pressures of higher-level study/working life whilst also enabling them to create life-lasting memories and new friendships.

To achieve an Award, young people must show persistence, commitment and personal development. It’s not something that can be achieved through a short burst of enthusiasm in one weekend. However, participants may fit their DofE activities around their school, college or social commitments, carrying them out in their own personal time.

Participants may choose to use something they are already doing as a DofE activity – or go for something completely new.

Below is a brief overview of what it takes to achieve a Bronze award:
